Dr. Randall Maxey, M.D., PhD.

Dr.  Randall Maxey, M.D., PhD began his career with a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from the University of Cincinnati's College of Pharmacy. He then went on to simultaneously earn his medical degree in the nation's capital, from the prestigious Howard University's College of Medicine along with his PhD in Cardiovascular Pharmacology from Howard University Graduate School's Department of Pharmacology in Washington DC.

He served both his internship & residency in internal medicine at both Harlem Hospital Medical Center's Department of Medicine, and Columbia University's College of Physician's & Surgeons in New York, NY.

He served a State University of NY Fellowship in Nephrology at the Dept of Medicine - Div of Nephrology, at Downstate Medical Center & Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn NY.

Since then, Dr. Maxey has risen to become one of the most prominent & well respected physicians in the United States, if not certainly one of the most well respected physicians in the African American community.

He has served as Director of Nephrology for both the Daniel Freeman Memorial Hospital, as well as the Robert F. Kennedy Medical Center. Medical Director for the Pacific Coast Dialysis Center, as well as Supervising Medical Director for both the Pacific Dialysis Center - Peritoneal Dialysis, Guam Renal care - Hemodialysis Center, and the Los Angeles Dialysis Center. Dr. Maxey has served as attending physician at numerous hospitals throughout Southern California, including Daniel Freeman Memorial Hospital, Robert F Kennedy Medical Center, and Cedars Sinai Medical Center.

His academic appointments and university positions are numerous as well, and he possesses specialized certification in Hyperbaric Medicine. He has served as a Senior Scientist with Hoffman-LaRoche, and as an Analytical Chemist for Procter & Gamble.

In addition to lecturing for the prestigious New England Journal of Medicine, Dr. Maxey is at the forefront of medicine and is an active participant in the Research Foundation for Ethnic-Related Diseases. As the Chief of Medicine for Encode Research, Dr. Maxey, along with Dr.Clair Francomano & Dr. Ann deWees Allen, provides valuable contributions and specific guidance for the formulation of Encode signal transduction products that address genetic polymorphisms within the African American community.
